Black Door Bungalow

This place was much bigger in person that it even was in the listing. It was extremely clean and the inside was beautiful. There is a fenced in yard and beautiful screened in porch that we were able to use even in the winter. The game area was such a great addition, the older adults to the kids all loved it. It was heated and such a cool addition to our stay. The kitchen was huge and we had more than enough room for 3 families. The host always responded extremely quickly and we are already planning to come back up in the summer. This place is close to the beach, we even walked there during our stay. I would 100% recommend this place!

This home is amazing! Wonderful location, large, well-appointed, great amenities! The game room is awesome. My whole family was impressed by the home itself (extremely well appointed, holds multiple families), cleanliness, proximity to attractions (~10 mins to New Buffalo), and amenities at the home. The staff managing the rental are quickly responsive to your needs! 10/10 would rent again!

This home is walking distance from the beach and a short drive to New Buffalo and Warren Dunes (among other areas).

A truly beautiful quality comfortable home well appointed and located in a fantastic setting deep into the woods on a private lane with an amazing lake view for perfect sunsets. We had 9 people with dogs for this week long family retreat and we loved every minute. The host was super easy to communicate with and we especially enjoyed the little touches like the fire pit, hot tub, gas grill, expansive front porch with comfortable tables and couches, and swings at the lake. 4 nice full beds in the loft with a full bathroom, 2 bedrooms each with queens on the main floor sharing a full bathroom and a bedroom with king in the basement with a full bath. Kitchen had nice appliances and was well stocked with utensils. Washer/dryer were upscale as well. Drive to best beaches just 15 mins. There is construction at the home next door. We are already planning to return next summer and can't wait!

We absolutely loved the house (we felt it was even bigger / better than the listing pictures!) and appreciated the great communication from the Juniper Holiday & Home team. Our group had 4 adults and 5 young children (9 months - 7 years old) and the upstairs space for kids and garage-turned-gameroom spots were especially loved! Loved being a short walk to the beach (we also drove to nearby Cherry Beach one morning) and a short drive to many local faves (Greenbush, Blackcurrant Bakehouse, Oink’s, Stray Dog, Seedz, etc). Appreciated how well-stocked the house was with things like dishwasher pods, toilet paper, etc (and children’s beach toys, books, pack n play, high chair). Beautiful home with lots of space to gather (and spread out)! Would love to return.

This was a great home to stay in with family and friends over the weekend. Kids want to return and stay for longer --the game room and bunkbeds were so fun for them. Adults enjoyed the kitchen, social areas, firepit and fireplace, the overall ambiance and style of the home, and very comfortable beds, pillows, couches and seating. Everything was clean and organized. Electric car charger worked without a glitch. I only wished for better access to filtered /drinking water and found the electric counter-top water filter to be insufficient for our needs. Overall though we had a great stay and would definitely return.

Our stay was everything we expected and more! The host was extremely responsive and helpful. We were looking to have a personal chef come into the home the cook dinner for our group and they were able to make a recommendation that was out of this world. Not only was the food spectacular, but the chef was interactive and entertaining!

We chose this house for its openness to just relax and enjoy one another’s company. Being Italian, we love to cook. We discovered the Miele coffee machine was not working properly. The contact person sent someone to repair and instruct us how to use the machine within 15 minutes! We enjoyed cappuccino for breakfast every morning. We learned and enjoyed learning much about the property from the representative.There was more than enough firewood for our fires everyday. The game room was so much fun for young and old. Location perfect for wineries, distilleries, and breweries.Our representative, Kaylin, answered all our questions, and concerns within 15 minutes!We have already booked this property in May. This house was lovely - enough space for three families. The kids loved the upstairs space with bunk beds and a play space. The only drawback was no direct beach access - cherry beach is close by but it was a drive. We made it work with a few adults and cars.

Great place! Good parking. Close to the beach, but the public beach is no longer accessible due to water level. But the house is amazing. Beautiful and plenty of space to hangout and relax. Game room garage is a lot of fun. Kitchen is amazing for cooking breakfast and dinner.

Our stay was fantastic. The home is gorgeous, everything brand new, high quality, design perfection. The game room was a nice bonus, we loved the giant jenga!
Only bummers are the short check-in/out window (4pm / 10am), and the walkable beach isn’t accessible (we traversed the rocks, but a nearby owner let us know it’s private and you can’t “stop” there. The public portion to the right is truly inaccessible). Cherry Beach, a few min drive, was really nice and recommended.

A beautiful and unique home in wonderful Lakeside, Michigan with upscale amenities: kitchen, linens, and gathering spaces for a group. Two things to be aware of: there is no bathroom on the upper level, and the closest access is not really a beach access, but there are other public beach access points within a short drive. Still a wonderful experience for our group of five adults!

We loved our stay at The Black Door. It was gorgeous, comfortable, and clean. It’s right next door to a wonderful fish market and easy walking distance to the lake. The beds are super comfortable. The home was simply lovely for our two families. The house is beautiful and we loved the decor. The kids (and parents) were very well entertained by the fantastic game room. The location is also excellent. In the middle of it all! It was easy to enjoy a few stops and eats in New Buffalo as well as Warren Dunes and beach! We would love to return!

We absolutely loved this house and wish we could come back again soon! The finishes were truly luxurious and we spent more time at the house than we usually do on vacation because it was just a lovely place to be. Walking distance to lake was great too !

This home is, hands down, my best AirBNB experience to date and I am fairly seasoned. The home is breathtaking. Cleanliness was immaculate and small thoughtful touches can be found throughout. The photos don’t do this home justice. The beds were some of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to use the outdoor space due to weather but the provided fire wood was appreciated. The outdoor spaces are fantastic. We would absolutely stay again. I can’t say enough.

Our stay and experience was almost flawless start to finish! The customer service is prompt and polite. The house was the best vacation rental we have have stayed in. It was enough space for our large group and dog, and just drop dead gorgeous. So many amenities including a game room and built in espresso maker! We can’t wait to return.

Came here for a weekend away with two other couples - the house was perfectly cozy and even better than the description. Location is fantastic, with all of our favorite spots no more than 30 minutes away (most of them within 5-10 mins). We were bummed to come in the winter when we couldn’t enjoy the outdoor space - looks lovely! We’ll definitely be back!

Can’t recommend enough. We had the most relaxing stay and can’t wait to visit again. The house is immaculate and upon arrival is peaceful and relaxing. The soaking bath and game room were among our favorite aspects of the house. The playroom upstairs was so fun for our little girl to crawl around in. The way the light fills the house is so beautiful. We have stayed in many Airbnb’s around the world and this home is definitely on the top of our list! Thank you again! Our group of 3 couples stayed in the house for a quick weekend getaway. The location is amazing and so picturesque. The house is beautifully done, comfortable, light, airy and open. This place was AMAZING! It was perfect for a birthday staycation for my family/friends. The space was big, everyone had room to move around and enjoy all of what the house had to offer. Even though it was cold outside, we were able to grill some steaks in the patio.
We checked in pretty late but Juniper checked in with us constantly and quickly. I’ve sent the house listing to 3 of my friends so far. We definitely want to come back during the warmer months.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The property was clean and the furnishings were high end. The game room was a ton of fun and the kitchen worked beautifully.
Be aware there are 2.5 bathrooms, and one is a Jack and Jill. The property is near a busy road and a railroad crossing, so it's not silent. there is very little yard, however the porch and fire pit areas are very nice.
We absolutely loved the place, what a lovely space and a great place to unwind! Would definitely recommend to others.

Wonderful house! Our family loved all the lounging areas, the kids loft was super fun and the game room was amazing - we had so much fun playing skee-ball. Beautiful decor throughout. It’s very close to Red Arrow Highway, not a problem for us, but just something to note. We will be back!

My husband and I and our 2 children had the most wonderful time here @ the black door! The home has everything you could ever dream of when away from your own … Detail and comfort were amazing, from the beds to the patios .. Even though we were out quite a bit. When we arrived home we conversed in several areas. Each one of them were lovely. We really didn’t use the beautifully decorated loft … Since all of our Grandchildren were not able to come ! But how very
Cute this is decorated with cozy spaces to nest into if they wanted to read or cuddle . Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts for opening your home to our family ! Memories my husband snd I will never forget!!! Hope to be back God willing very soon !

The Juniper is an immaculate home with classy decor and thoughtful design details throughout. The home is inviting, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. It's close to the beach and there are a few shops just across the street to explore. The house offers many spaces for entertaining and comes equipped with all the essentials for a comfortable stay. I could not get over the beautiful kitchen countertops and just the general richness of the home. Every room and space was absolutely amazing. We will be coming back!

5/5 stars for this home without hesitation. We wanted a home to stay in that would allow our family to hang out in some nice communal spaces. The kitchen is amazing, the open concept dining and living room is so cozy, yet spacious. Not a detail was missed with the decorations in this home. The lofted second floor for children was a huge hit along with the game room. Each bedroom was spacious and comfortable. Bathrooms had high end details and were extremely clean. Can only imagine how pretty this place will also be with fall colors or even during snow with so many windows. Hosts were quick to communicate and provided clear instructions. Had a great weekend getaway.

The Lakeside house was absolutely beautiful. It was like staying in an HGTV inspiration home. My family of 7 enjoyed our mini vacation comfortably, especially my parents who deserving got the master bedroom and bathroom which was breathtaking. What we enjoyed most was using the high end kitchen for an excellent cooking and dining experience and making great conversation. There’s something about good coffee in the morning waking up to the sunrise and natural light that shines through the big beautiful windows. We also loved the garage game room where my family played a lot of skee ball and shuffleboard. I definitely recommend this to any couple or family.

If you appreciate a stunning home that didn’t leave a single design and comfort detail out of mind when designing and building this home, this is the home for you. We traveled with 3 young kids (1, 3, 5), and the home was perfect for them as it was for us as adults who appreciate fine decor and design. We were so close to many beaches and restaurants but we cooked every meal at the home which was equipped with every amenity you could think of when designing a high end kitchen. The second floor was perfect for our kiddos who loved the teepee tent and bunk beds as well as the garage turned game room with skee ball, foosball, shuffle board, bags, and equipped with 2 TVs (one for the kids and one for the adults ?). I could go on and on about the home…but you’ll just need to book your stay and visit for yourself.

Wow! Yes. Wow! Incredible is all we could say. An incredible home, all you could imagine for a family or couples get away. Close to everything, impeccable! Grab this place if you can and enjoy the property. Our families enjoyed the time there! Communication was perfect. Never a concern on anything.
