We had a lovely stay! The house was beautiful and very thoughtfully set up for families. There were plenty of books, games, and kid-friendly touches, which made it a fun and relaxing getaway from the city. That said, the internet was quite slow and the WiFi signal wasn’t very strong, so it wouldn’t be the best option if you plan to work remotely. Overall, a great spot for unplugging and spending quality time together.

My family of 5 LOVED our 4 nights at the house! The space and layout is great- and so stylish and comfortable. We utilized everything the house offered- game room, laundry, beach, fire pit, grill, kitchen, living room for movies, screened in porch and dining room table for meals and games. We ate every meal at the house because we simply didn't want leave it! And the responsiveness and attention from Juniper is superb!

The Black Door Bungalow is a wonderful property. It allows for fun and entertaining. The game room, outdoor fire pit area and screened in porch are perfect! The location allows for easy access to restaurants and the beach.

We loved our stay at Black Door. It is clean, super comfortable home and has wonderful amenities. Also, everything was in good operating condition. The kitchen appliances were high quality. The furniture including the couches and beds were comfortable. The game room surprised us. It turned out to be a great place to entertain the toddlers. Even though the location is near a busy corner, they created patio space that feels private. We use vacation rentals frequently and this house was one of our favorites. I can easily share that Juniper was the best vacation rental company I have dealt with in Michigan or around the country. Their communication has been the most personal and service oriented. I messaged with a variety of people (which is usually a challenge to maintain continuity of quality service) and everyone was refreshingly positive and helpful. We had some unique needs and they were sincere about helping us out It's an attitude and a level of service that is hard to find these days. Thanks so much!

What a beautiful home.! The beds and furniture were very comfortable and furnishings and appliances were all beautiful and nice quality. Although it is near a busier corner, the outdoor and indoor space felt very private. We loved the natural light and the huge kitchen which made it easy to prepare meals. Bedrooms and bathrooms had plenty of space to spread out. The game room was a surprise. It made a quiet spot for the kids to play in and was fun for adults too. My biggest surprise was working with Juniper. I have rented for decades from so many different rental companies in MI and around the country over the years and their service was the most sincere and personalized I have ever experienced. Their follow through was impeccable - even though they had a variety of staff members involved - each person I conversed with had the same positive, customer service focus. They have a unique sense of knowing how to create an uplifting customer experience. I would rent this home again and more importantly, look for opportunities to work with Juniper.

This place was much bigger in person that it even was in the listing. It was extremely clean and the inside was beautiful. There is a fenced in yard and beautiful screened in porch that we were able to use even in the winter. The game area was such a great addition, the older adults to the kids all loved it. It was heated and such a cool addition to our stay. The kitchen was huge and we had more than enough room for 3 families. The host always responded extremely quickly and we are already planning to come back up in the summer. This place is close to the beach, we even walked there during our stay. I would 100% recommend this place!

This place was fantastic - absolutely beautiful inside and out. The location was also great, the neighborhood is very cute and it is a short 10 minute drive from new buffalo. The hosts were also very communicative throughout.

Our stay was perfect. Plenty of space for our family weekend. Clean, spacious, welcoming space. They went above and beyond to make our stay special. Within driving distance of restaurants, and shops. Walking distance to public beach. No complaints, we would definitely stay again.

A truly beautiful quality comfortable home well appointed and located in a fantastic setting deep into the woods on a private lane with an amazing lake view for perfect sunsets. We had 9 people with dogs for this week long family retreat and we loved every minute. The host was super easy to communicate with and we especially enjoyed the little touches like the fire pit, hot tub, gas grill, expansive front porch with comfortable tables and couches, and swings at the lake. 4 nice full beds in the loft with a full bathroom, 2 bedrooms each with queens on the main floor sharing a full bathroom and a bedroom with king in the basement with a full bath. Kitchen had nice appliances and was well stocked with utensils. Washer/dryer were upscale as well. Drive to best beaches just 15 mins. There is construction at the home next door. We are already planning to return next summer and can't wait!

This home is beautifully decorated with gorgeous landscaping and comfortable furniture. A few issues will keep me from renting it again. Although it is a couple of blocks to the water, there is no beach there. There is a wonderful beach about a 10 min. drive from the house. They describe the upstairs loft as a great space for kids, but there is no door and it is at the top of a steep stairway. We did not think it was safe for kids. There is a fire pit/barbecue area that is a nice space, but very close to a busy intersection with a lot of traffic noise, and again, not safe for kids. Finally, the wifi in this house is terrible. We could only get it in one small spot in the kitchen. The members of our group who wanted to work remotely were not able to do so. We were not able to use our streaming services due to the poor wifi. We did enjoy many aspects of this home, including the game room, the comfy beds and the well-appointed kitchen.

We absolutely loved the house (we felt it was even bigger / better than the listing pictures!) and appreciated the great communication from the Juniper Holiday & Home team. Our group had 4 adults and 5 young children (9 months - 7 years old) and the upstairs space for kids and garage-turned-gameroom spots were especially loved! Loved being a short walk to the beach (we also drove to nearby Cherry Beach one morning) and a short drive to many local faves (Greenbush, Blackcurrant Bakehouse, Oink’s, Stray Dog, Seedz, etc). Appreciated how well-stocked the house was with things like dishwasher pods, toilet paper, etc (and children’s beach toys, books, pack n play, high chair). Beautiful home with lots of space to gather (and spread out)! Would love to return.

This was a great home to stay in with family and friends over the weekend. Kids want to return and stay for longer --the game room and bunkbeds were so fun for them. Adults enjoyed the kitchen, social areas, firepit and fireplace, the overall ambiance and style of the home, and very comfortable beds, pillows, couches and seating. Everything was clean and organized. Electric car charger worked without a glitch. I only wished for better access to filtered /drinking water and found the electric counter-top water filter to be insufficient for our needs. Overall though we had a great stay and would definitely return.

6 days, our kids and spouses, 4 grandchildren, 2 well behaved dogs. The entire property was immaculate. All furniture and beds extremely comfortable. We chose this house for its openness to just relax and enjoy one another’s company. Being Italian, we love to cook. There was more than enough room for all of us to participate for 3 meals a day..The stocked kitchen was wonderful. We brought our own food. We discovered the Miele coffee machine was not working properly. The contact person sent someone to repair and instruct us how to use the machine within 15 minutes! We enjoyed cappuccino for breakfast every morning. We learned and enjoyed learning much about the property from the representative.There was more than enough firewood for our fires everyday. The game room was so much fun for young and old. Location perfect for wineries, distilleries, and breweries.Our representative, Kaylin, answered all our questions, and concerns within 15 minutes!We have already booked this property in May. We’re looking forward to relax in the screened in porch, outside patio, and grilling!

"Went there for a quick family weekend and weÔø?re wowed right from the start. Great open front area that accommodated all eight of us for various activities like tv, games and eating. The kitchen is phenomenal. Fairly easy access to the highway and close to restaurants and bars (10 - 15 min). We had a blast."

"Everything about our stay was great! Check in was easy and private. The house had plenty of space for our 3 families. The kids really enjoyed the loft and game room. The kitchen had everything we needed and more (even an espresso machine!). The location was great as well. Lots of local restaurants and the lake close by. The host went above and beyond! We were greeted with a sweet treat upon arrival and they even bought skewers for us to use for sÔø?mores. It was amazing! We hope to book this home again!"

This was truly the most beautiful home I have ever stayed in. I, my partner, and our friends stayed here for a birthday weekend and there was plenty of space for us in the house and it was very close to a public beach (the beach at the end of the road is currently inaccessible). I was lucky enough to stay in the master suite and it was truly incredible. From the wardrobe room to the bedroom, to the bathroom everything was amazing and beautiful. This home seriously looks like it came straight out of Restoration Hardware. The bonus game room was a fun place for us to hang out in at night and offered fun entertainment. I wished we could never leave this home and it is definitely worth checking out! Also, the woman I spoke to about the home and arrangements, Cailin, was extremely friendly and helpful!
