The views are spectacular! We absolutely loved all the windows and the cozy sun room. It was a hit with the entire family, from my elementary aged kids to my parents. The only slight downside was less than pristine cleaning (dark clumps of hair found in both bathroom drains so we opted for showers instead of giving the kids baths) and in each of the twin bedrooms there was one comfortable twin and one extremely hard twin (it was too hard even for my dad who likes firm mattresses but…the couches offered a comfortable alternative).

We enjoyed a sisters’ weekend and it was just great! The space was very clean and well represented on the site. I have done this for years and this is by far the best stocked kitchen I have seen—even great knives!! We are booking for next year!

Great view of Lake Michigan!! I gave a rating of 3 stars for check in because the front door was locked and we had to wait 45 minutes to get in (not sure whose mistake it was locking front door when there was a sign saying dO NOt lock front door). Also, the master bedroom bed was terrible! The twin beds not much better. Kitchen was fully stocked with all the essentials, nice glassware selection. TV’s all worked, the fireplace was so nice to have on a cold night!!

We enjoyed getting away and being on Lake Michigan-it's such a pretty view! The lake was frozen slightly wen we arrived and thawed in a few days so we got to experience seeing that and a Bald Eagle flew right through the back yard. Very relaxing, we will be back!

The view of the lake is absolutely incredible and the sunsets were spectacular. The neighborhood is quiet but close enough to plenty of restaurants and shops. The house was clean and it was an added bonus that we could bring our dog. We had a great family weekend and would love to come back!

My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely, clean home right on Lake Michigan! The town was just a 20 minute walk away as was the public beach. When not investigating local wineries, shops, and restaurants we took advantage of viewing the lake right from the deck. Highly recommend this home!

This is a great place to "get away" to relax, soak up incredible views of Lake Michigan and enjoy memorable sunsets on the large deck. We love the open floor plan providing a feeling of spaciousness to appreciate the lake view from most rooms. Nice kitchen with island and enough utensils to leave everything at home. It's an older home with outdated bathrooms but who cares? You're not buying the house, just enjoying it for a short period of time. Quiet neighborhood but close to cute town of New Buffalo's shops, restaurant and public beach. We have rented this home for two years now and will return again next year. I miss it already!

Great location - right on the waters of Lake Michigan. The house was clean and well stocked with linen, kitchen utensils and cookware, and even some beach items in the garage. The mattress is foam and too soft. The air conditioner struggles to keep the house cool, so use the shades when the sun starts setting. We want to return for a longer time!

The views are amazing, and the common spaces are very nice. I would stay again, but there were a few aspects that weren’t great. The towels and linens were a random jumble stuffed into the linen closet, and there were no washcloths. The bathroom fixtures were very outdated, with poorly flushing toilets and an odd sink with a tiny spigot that was hard to use. Most of the appliances seem very old. The washer and dryer did not work well, the fridge didn’t want to stay very cold, and the TVs were pretty small. I also asked the host a question that was never answered. Still had a pretty good time with the family, but if those issues were addressed it would be a really great place to stay.

Place was clean and pictures of the home were very accurate. Right on Lake Michigan with beautiful views of the lake. However the batteries to the TV were dead. There was no dishwasher detergent to clean dishes, so had to wash by hand., and couldn't wash towels because there was no detergent for that either. Still had a great time.

Overall we liked this home but with a few upgrades we would have loved it. First off, the view of Lake Michigan from the kitchen, deck, living room and three season room is spectacular. The seating area of the deck is spacious and comfortable and the gas grill worked great. The kitchen was spotless and had everything we needed to prepare meals. The three season room is clean and comfortable. You can open every window to let fresh air in. The home has two TV's which had Xfiniti cable and clear reception and hundreds of channels. WiFi was strong throughout the house. The bathrooms were very clean and had ample hot water and pressure. There is a strong musty odor throughout the house. We were concerned about this but decided to stay anyway. We did get used to the smell for the most part but it hits you every time you enter the house. Our guests noticed this also. The queen mattress in the master bedroom is shot. It has a huge crease in the center and the mattress raises up at the bottom. We could not sleep here because we both have back issues. The carpeting in the main living area is stained in several places. There is no beach due to the high water, it's so sad because we saw some pictures where the beach years ago was amazing. Every home appears to have been affected by this costing millions of dollars in erosion control. The private beach area is a small tract of pebbles and sand squeezed between two homes, would be crowded with 4 or 5 people. We saw two beautiful sunsets, and if you look closely you can see the Chicago skyline in the distance. There a lot of restaurants nearby and some of the popular winery's are about a 25-30 drive. We would love to come back in the future. Hopefully the issues I mentioned will be addressed. The manager of the property is easily reached and I advised her of my concerns.

The house was very clean and had everything you would need. Even though with the Covid we were still able to enjoy ourselves. Carry out and eating at restaurants with outside seating was the trick. My sisters and I had a great long weekend in New Buffalo. This house was perfect...clean, spacious, well equipped and the views from the living room and/or deck we're amazing. We were close enough to town to enjoy the fall fest, lunch, drinks and shopping, but spent most of our time hanging out, cooking, playing games, etc. Just a fun, relaxing weekend. Thank you again!!

The entire experience was actually pretty awesome. We had some bumps with COVID-19 but Heather was really great to work with. The house is beautiful. New floors!! Beds were all comfortable. There was everything that we needed there especially since going out was kind of limited. I look forward to the day that the lake may recede and it is beach accessible again. Love love

Location, view, home itself were all fantastic. Little bit surprised by the lakefront erosion mitigation construction during the weekday, which litterally shook the ground. Surprised again when homeowner’s handyman came to the property to show some work he did to a group of friends. That was a bit awkward. As the erosion mitigation moves further west, it will be much quieter. It was probably just our luck that visitors appeared and I doubt that that type of thing would repeat itself for other guests. Next season it will be nice and quiet. Good for family to hang out and enjoy the lake breeze.

The house was a perfect layout. Kitchen well supplied. View from deck beautiful. Some house attention needed ie lock kitchen door to deck not working. Some lightbulbs need replacing around house. Step up to back den needs a light or demarcation. But overall the view and accessibility and residential street House is on made it a great getaway. Thank you. We plan to be back.

My wife and I were very excited about a relaxed getaway with our infant daughter. I'm sad to say, there was nothing relaxing about our stay. We were woken up every single morning by construction taking place behind our neighbor's home. Our house shook multiple times throughout the day and the constant noise didn't stop until 5pm. When I texted the property manager, the response was that it's pretty normal this time of year. If we would have known that, we would not have rented in the first place. On top of that, we had no hot water for a whole day and had to have a plumber come over to take care of it. Finally, a bunch of windows don't close and one of the blinds literally fell in the middle of the night, waking up our infant daughter for the remainder of it. And based on the cleaning fee we were charged, we expected a bit more in that department.

There was an easy check in process with a binder full of great info to greet us, answering all questions about beach access, the neighborhood, check out process, etc. The home is exactly as listed, and the views are even more breathtaking in person. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and utensils for cooking, very clean and easy to use. The small neighborhood beach was an easy walk, very rocky, but still pleasant to use. The only negative was a lot of bugs once it gets dark, but that can't be helped, just pack lots of bug spray and citronella if you'd like to sip cocktails outside or start a bonfire. Any questions we had were answered quickly and politely. We loved the space, and will probably stay here again next summer :)

The home was very quaint, incredibly clean and tidy, and the view spectacular of Lake Michigan. The kitchen was well organized and very functional. A few suggestions to make the stay even better for next time include access to a working gas fireplace given the time of year, winter, and additional heating sources in the sun room for the same reason. Also, adequate outdoor lighting needs to be installed and in working order to ensure better safety especially for those guests with pets. There were lights outside in the backyard but none were working properly and it made it very difficult to navigate in the evening. Finally, the main living areas excluding the kitchen would be greatly improved with additional lighting especially during the winter months when it is dark so early. Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much!

The house was okay not luxury. The backyard needs a lot of attention. The grass wasn't cut for a long time. The view was spectacular and we loved that Pretty disappointed Regards Jan

We have stayed in a number of VRBOs in over twenty visits to the area from Michiana to Grand Haven. The accommodations were variable in amenities but always acceptable. Overall we especially enjoyed the layout of the living area and kitchen. We were disappointed that: 1- One bedroom had no window treatment of any kind. There was a bar for a curtain but no curtain, drapes, or blinds to darken the room. 2- We looked forward to the ambiance of the gas fireplace but could not leave it on due to noxious fumes that all five of us found so intolerably annoying that we had to turn it off. Charles did his best to troubleshoot but was unable to resolve or improve the situation. 3- The hot tub was cloudy and we felt uncomfortable getting back in after our first use. Cailin was very responsive but I didn’t want to text her on Christmas Day. We were pleasantly surprised that someone showed up unsolicited to service the tub on 12/26. He too noted as did we that the water had a slight green cast to it and was turbid. He found that the chlorine level was “zero” and “should be 2-5 parts per million”. After his shock treatment we noted improvement in the color and a reassuring mild scent of chlorine and were comfortable getting back in. We regretted that the hot tub wasn’t better maintained upon our arrival and that we missed other opportunities to enjoy it. 4- We accidentally discovered that dogs had used the lawn. Fortunately my wife found this on her shoe immediately. No more space. Call?

Everything was great with 2 exceptions… (1) the wall outlet at the head of the queen bed did not have a cover (bare wiring visible and potential shock hazard), and (2) the hot and cold water faucets in the 2nd bathroom (the one with just the shower) were plumbed backwards —- expected cold faucet comes out hot, and vice-versa (another potential hazard). What can you do about these issues?

The view is gorgeous, the hot tub is great and the neighborhood is a great location. If I could give 4.5 stars I would; because this place could definitely use a refresh in the interior- in one of the bedrooms, both twin beds are rock hard and very old. In one of the smaller bedrooms, there is peeled paint on the doors, closet doors, walls and ceiling and a LOT of the owners clutter is left behind- both smaller bedroom closets as well as the hall closets were full of the owners' old video games, old televisions, etc. The door to the laundry room was jammed shut and the kitchen cabinets are full of really old appliances, but lack more common sense things like napkins or olive oil. The master bathroom was very nice and I loved that there was a walk-in shower for my elderly parents, but the second bathroom shower was moldy and the shower head was extremely old. The AC/Heat also did not work during our stay- it was fine because the weather was nice enough and we could open the windows; but any other time of year would not be ideal. Juniper did offer to send someone to repair the AC and I did like that they have a contracted person who comes to maintain the hot tub, which was clean and gorgeous. Overall this could be a five-star property with a little bit of work, but for the price we paid, it didn't really feel that luxurious.

When my wife said “this is exactly what I wanted to have” as we walked in, it was a great relief. The house looks over Lake Michigan beautifully and one can’t help but enjoy the space. The home itself is a nice and simple gem. Everything works ( save a few window cranks in the sun room) and the sound of the water all day is so relaxing. Easy access to town and good restaurants and coffee spots…and Oinks! If you are looking for lavish, you may look elsewhere. If you are looking for supremely satisfying quiet time with your loved one(s), this fits the bill.

The views and the jacuzzi made this stay special and truly relaxing. Love the kitchen! Excellent, kind, professional communication with Juniper. Quality restaurants, cafes, and markets. Just right for our family with adult and teen children and our dog.

I enjoyed the stay. 3 minute car ride to town, hot tub was great and offered a perfect view of the sunset. There is a little beach access .2 miles down the road.

We enjoyed our stay because of the location, but the house definitely needs maintenance. 1. Metal dining chairs loose and would have resulted in fall for senior family member if someone had not been close enough to catch her. My brother borrowed Allen wrench from neighbor and tightened all of them. 2. Windows did not have curtains and broom stick in one that we hung towels on. It was right next to the street where people were walking by. The blinds on some windows aren’t installed and just laying on top of the brackets. Fell as soon as tried to open and had to call brother for help so it didn’t hit my sisters head on the other bed. 3. The mattresses on the twin beds need replaced. One was so hard it couldn’t be slept on. 4. There is a step up going from room to sunroom that needs marked somehow in order to ensure no tripping. After couple of times and warning the others we managed but it is an accident waiting to happen. 5. There are 3 tv’s for watching tv. Only one worked and got reception. No instructions. No We loved being on Lake Michigan but would not pay the summer price for the house for sure. We would go back if all of the issues were solved and the place spruced up some.

The house was perfect for us. The views were amazing even with the weather being a little bit of a winter mix. The house was a great size and able to spread out and have plenty of sitting areas or to hang out.

This was a special trip for me and my two daughters. The lake views were beautiful! The house was perfect in every way. New Buffalo has great restaurants. It was just what we needed for just relaxing on the deck and even inside looking out the big windows. Thank you to the host and owners for making this trip soecial.

We just loved the gas fireplace and used it night and day because it was the chilly month of November. When I checked in, it was 30 mph winds, and a piece of vinyl siding was hitting the screen house windows violently. Luckily, nothing broke. Be sure to check out the stray dog!

House was very nice and the view spectacular. It was clean and easy to check in and the customer service was excellent throughout the whole process. I really appreciated them reaching out while we were there to see if we needed anything and responding very promptly. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Our group of six adults relaxed and then relaxed some more. The layout of the house is such that everyone could find the perfect resting location. My husband on his computer, sport junkies watching TV and all of us watching the lake from the back deck. The kitchen layout makes it easy to prepare meals and serve food on the table next to the kitchen. PLUS this is the best stocked kitchen I have ever enjoyed in a rental; plenty of dishes and glasses and an array of flatware and utensils. We were disappointed that the lake continues to be high thus requiring the shoreline to be protected with huge stones making water entry in front of the house unavailable. We had a great sunset with the sun going down behind the tiny shapes that were the skyscrapers of Chicago...unexpected and delightful.

Stayed here last summer. Great place. Wonderful view of the lake. We did have a "visitor". What we believe was a ground hog found his way into the walls. Noise at night.

What a wonderful town to visit and explore. New Buffalo is easily accessible from points Gary to Chicago but far enough to have a small town charm. There are numerous public access beaches that are clean, and offer facilities including food and drink. There is an impressive marina close to shops and a variety of eating establishments. The main highway goes through the center of town but beware as speed limits and full stops are not well practiced by more than a few. New Buffalo is a full service community with a diverse socioeconomic representation. The town has a comprehensive grocery, top rate hardware store, realty companies, excellent roadside produce, and ice cream shops. There is more but finding it is all part of the experience which I would highly recommend. Don't forget to checkout the sunsets as the view over Lake Michigan is to the west. Forget trying to photograph it unless you are a professional, and selfies just don't do it justice so sit back with your favorite beverage and enjoy the show.

The day before check in, the ppty manager,Heather sent a message that the oven was not working, but would be fixed within a day or 2. The part did not come in, so we had no working stove or oven for our stay. We did receive a small refund. While they recently upgraded some things…new couches, new table, some new BR furniture, and flooring, the rest of the rental was not well maintained and portions were not clean. In the sunroom, most windows did not work. Most of the window cranks were cracked and broken. The cleanliness of this property was also an issue. While surfaces were clean, other areas were not. The kitchen had some opened food that was left in the cabinets and the freezer. There were crumbs in some of the cabinets, the refrigerator shelves had not been wiped down. The vents at the base of the refrigerator were covered with dirt as was the baseboard, specifically behind the trash can.The bedrooms were clean. There are 2 bathrooms in the rental, one was spotless while the other one was not. It had a dirty floor with bits of hair and dirt along the baseboard. The linen closets were a mess with balled up blankets, sheets, towels. On the last day we discovered that the washing machine had a load of damp towels that had been in there awhile. We did not contact Heather immediately about the cleaning issues, since we just dealt with them, but over the course of the week they did add up to quite a bit. We have provided her with this feedback directly. Outside there is no barrier between the lawn and the cliff edge. There is a large tree that provides shade to the deck. The beach will probably not be accessible again from this property or many others for a long time. The lake has risen over time and the city had to shore up the hillside. The beach access is down the street, and is a steep hill down to the water that they have been dumping rocks on. This property has a nice view and location but the maintenance and cleanliness issues would keep us from renting it again. Our two star rating reflects this plus the lack of a working stove during our stay.

This is a great house for what you consider a beach house - Not too fancy where you cringe when one of this kids bumps into furniture with a toy yet is nicely furnished with excellent lake views. The fact it's a ranch worked well for us. The pictures online are actually very representative of the size of rooms. Pretty spacious with room to spread out. The neighborhood is quiet with a small sandy beach at the end of the block which was perfect for the little one. I must give kudos to Heather, the property manager who helped work with the property owner assisting us when a major storm knocked out power for two days. Totally out of their control but they were responsive and very fair throughout the ordeal. That gave us confidence in vrbo and all involved. Overall it's a great place to relax, kick back and enjoy being right on the lake. We'll be back next year!

The lake view of the property is AMAZING! Home is comfortable and had everything we needed. Beach area at the house is gone with lake levels so traveled to the city beach for a nice morning. We enjoyed wineries, breweries, shopping, and relaxing. If you like walks or hiking, the marsh and canopy trails at Galion River Park was nice and not real strenuous.

Extremely nice home with a wonderful deck and sun room overlooking the lake. Clean with everything we needed to cook and grill and have coffee in the mornings. Having two bathrooms made it easy for five adults to share with no one having to wait. Everything is on one level with just a small two inch step to sun room and deck, made it easy for grandparents and my son in a wheelchair. We all loved it and would book it again in the future. Thank you so much!

Several chairs were broken, and one collapsed when a member of our party sat in it. One of the back doors did not lock. Many wall switches throughout the house controlled nothing. Fixtures and appliances are dated but functional. With that being said, however, I have to say that it is a great location with phenomenal views of Lake Michigan. Very quiet neighborhood with an abundance of birds and other urban wildlife. Also just a short walk to downtown New Buffalo and the public beach, and 20 minutes to the Indiana Dunes.
