Coastal Cottage

The house was wonderful! Just like the pictures, plenty of kitchen items and paper products, lots of space to gather with our family. The outside was the only part that left a little bit of disappointment. The pictures made it appear much more secluded than it actually is. A house was being built right next door with several men working during the day, which made me feel a little disappointed in that part of the stay.

This property is managed by a great company. They were extremely friendly and responsive. The house is well equipped, comfortable and clean. The views are beautiful, especially from the deck by the water. It’s about a 20 minute drive into town but if that doesn’t bother you, this property is great!

Gorgeous lake views! You have to read the instructions they send prior to your trip. Especially regarding directions. My family loved it. Host was responsive. Would definitely stay again if I find myself in the area with my family

7 adults stayed for 3 nights. Wonderful place! I have already recommended it to friends in St. Joe who need an extra place for guests. Only thing is that there is no beach access and finding it was very tricky.

My family and I spent a few days in this lovely home to visit my grandmother, who lives nearby just a few minutes away. While our stay was rather short, those few days — every moment — were the highlight of our year thus far. To be together, all of us, in such a beautiful and peaceful space is something we will all cherish forever. Truly felt like home. We loved the light, the openness, the proximity to dear Lake Michigan, the tranquility. Such joy. I am incredibly grateful to Cailin and her team for their kindness, responsiveness, their attention and care. We look forward to our next visit :) absolutely fantastic. We come from a large family and our siblings from 5 different Stares traveled to St Joseph for a funeral of a beloved family member. The summer Coastal Cottage was a warm, comfortable and pleasantly furnished venue that settled the nerves and soothed the soul. Indeed, the Swiss would describe the atmosphere and ambience as “gemutlich” (cheerful, warm, and cozy). The proprietors were extreme accommodating to our needs, and were warm and thoughtful hosts. I would highly recommend this venue for any.family gathering . The views of the lake and sunsets are stunning.

Beautiful lakeside home and location with many amenities. We booked last minute for a perfect September weather window. I loved all of the paneled windows that opened seamlessly to allow a breeze throughout the house. Unique and thought out design throughout the entire space, inside and out. The beds and bedding are Four Seasons Hotel quality. Great hosts, quick personable responses to any question. We highly recommend this house for a superb lakefront experience.

It's a shoreline cabin/house with a wonderful lakeside/ seaside vibe. It's a wonderful "hang out and talk" kind of place that coddles the soul.
The view of Lake Michigan is wonderful as the cabin sits 50-60 feet above the shoreline providing stunning sunset views. The lower deck is a sweet hangout as well.

We celebrated my brothers birthday here and it was the perfect lake house! It was a short 1.5 hour car ride from Chicago and was so relaxing hearing the sounds of the waves & the seeing views of the lake. The place was very clean and had more than enough towels / blankets/ etc. for our group of 10! We had a storm pass through that impacted our Wi-fi and the property managers handled it with care and communicated efficiently.

This was a business trip, but I can’t wait to come back for a personal trip. The house was simply amazing only beaten by the incredible sunset views- it was extremely peaceful. Every amenity you could want was available! My communication with the property manager over a few minor issues was prompt and very helpful. I can’t say enough about this little oasis. I wish I lived here!!

My wife and I, along with our 3 dogs, stayed here with my parents, brother & sister-in-law, 3 nieces, and nephew & his friend.
The home and views were magical. We spent our evenings eating on the porch during the sunset and would venture down to the swing and dock for even better views! We had a storm one morning with a lot of lightning and were able to watch it roll in across the lake...wowzers! The jacuzzi and firepit were a great way to end the night!
There are tons of things to do in the area, including beaches, breweries/wineries, shops, & eateries (Warren Dunes, St. Joseph (Silver Beach Pizza!), Saugatuck, South Haven, etc.).
The only real "negative" for the stay was the only place with room for dog crates was in the basement. Our two larger dogs went up and down a LOT of steps (inside & outside) that week, which is not ideal. That being said, they enjoyed the house/property as much as we did!
Amazing house. Amazing week. We would love to go back in the future!

A truly beautiful quality comfortable home well appointed and located in a fantastic setting deep into the woods on a private lane with an amazing lake view for perfect sunsets. We had 9 people with dogs for this week long family retreat and we loved every minute. The host was super easy to communicate with and we especially enjoyed the little touches like the fire pit, hot tub, gas grill, expansive front porch with comfortable tables and couches, and swings at the lake. 4 nice full beds in the loft with a full bathroom, 2 bedrooms each with queens on the main floor sharing a full bathroom and a bedroom with king in the basement with a full bath. Kitchen had nice appliances and was well stocked with utensils. Washer/dryer were upscale as well. Drive to best beaches just 15 mins. There is construction at the home next door. We are already planning to return next summer and can't wait!

Attention to the details in this home are exceptional. The views of Lake Michigan sunsets, location, furnishings, and little details like quality towels, quality bed linens, huge laundry room & local pancake mix & syrup made our stay next level. My college age kids agreed the location and yard, and fire pit were favorite parts of our visit. IT’s everything the photos highlight and more. Selfishly, I hesitated to share how great it all was as I don’t want it to be full next time we visit.

Amazing views of Lake Michigan. Super super clean. A lot of communal spaces as well as private areas. Loved the open floor plan of the main living area. Be sure to follow directions provided and not GPS.

Amazing! The views are spectacular - almost unbelievable!!
We stayed @ the cottage during a Winter storm and it was so cozy and comfortable. A great home for a family get together with older children and adults. We were sad we could not use the fire pit due to the weather, but the fireplace more than made up for it. The charming small town of St. Joseph’s is a quick 15 minutes away. Would definitely recommend anyone stay here who wants to be in awe of Lake Michigan!

This house is fantastic! It's big, well-appointed, and really cozy. The above-shore deck provides amazing water views, and the sunsets are brilliant. Everything was as described, or better. We also really appreciated being deep in the woods, yet so close to Warren Dunes, wineries, breweries, and all other services. The dog-friendly policy was really appreciated!

We spent a beautiful long weekend at this rental. There are not many rentals that allow pets so it was a sweet surprise that this one did. The dogs loved running up and down the front yard and taking long walks. I highly recommend this rental.

All conditions and amenities were in place for a spectacular getaway for our large family. From the spacious house, to the tranquility of Lake Michigan, and the nearby lighthouse beaches all within 30 minutes drive, we had a wonderful time! Highly recommend this property!

This is a wonderful place to stay with family or friends (we were a group of 8)! The views are incredible both from the house and the private deck that essentially sits on the water. The hosts were very communicative and helpful with parking and check-in/check-out assistance. The furniture was all very comfortable which was a huge plus since I have stayed in many Airbnb's with very uncomfortable beds/couches. The drive up the road to the house is quite narrow and through the woods, if driving at night definitely use your brights. There is a Meijer an 8-minute drive away for any grocery needs (the kitchen was stocked with cutlery and plenty of dishware, but the pantry and fridge did not have very much). Be mindful there is no lake access from the house, it sits on a very rocky small cliff. The fireplace was extremely nice and operational with a simple light switch. Thermostat was very easy to operate. In the area, we rented a pontoon boat in St. Josephs (15 minute drive away) and visited a local winery (20 minute drive away). I would definitely recommend this house, it was beautifully decorated, spacious, and you cannot beat the views of the lake.

Lots of activities around, pickle ball in Stevensville, golfing, walking and so many cute little towns along Lake Michigan. Great restaurants, our favorite being Grande Mere Inn and Tosi's in Stevensville. It was a great trip and the house was 5 stars!

Great place to hang out with friends, plenty of space to spread out and relax. We loved having the outdoor dining area in addition to the large indoor space.
We were a little confused by the bedroom description, so for anyone reading this there are three true bedrooms and a loft with four twin beds. There are also three showers, one of which is a jack & jill/en suite.
Swimming in/getting to the lake is a little treacherous (you have to scramble down slippery rocks, or hike to a private beach nearby and hope you don't get in trouble). We made it work, but YMMV.
Lovely view of the sunset, great deck to watch the boats pass by. Overall a great property for our little group.

We also do not recommend swimming in the lake in front of the house, as it is rocky shoreline and dangerous. This property is everything we could have hoped. We were looking for a beautiful and relaxing destination, and this checked all the boxes. Would stay again, without hesitation! So many windows to give natural light, even on a rainy day. Kitchen was beautiful and well stocked if you feel like staying in. Lots of small details that just made it all even better. Extremely clean and comfortable, and what a view!

The perfect location. Down a quiet dirt road, easy to navigate and park, easy self check in. The views of Lake Michigan are amazing. Their is a neighbor close on each side but no one was home. We got the feeling even if they were, it wouldn’t take away from the quiet and private aspects of the house. Inside there are ample comfy places to lounge and sleep, a bathroom or a TV everywhere you could want one, and a super usable kitchen. Grocery store 5 minutes away for anything you need, and don’t sleep on The Dogslinger for lunch one day.

Hands down the BEST airbnb I've stayed! There wasnt a single detail left out by the hosts. Fully stocked kitchen, amaaaazingly comfortable beds, the VIEW, literally everything! Excellent place to spread out, relax, and enjoy spring break with the kids. Morning walks by the lake and evening s’mores by the fire bookended a perfect stay. Our hosts were very accommodating in bringing in additional baby items for our infant twins. The home is thoughtfully laid out and provides several areas for relaxing. Can’t wait to come back!

Our stay at the house was amazing !! We had a blast hanging out by the fire and relaxing. It was a quick drive to st Joseph and the view of the water was beautiful. The house is nicely updated and very clean and has everything you would want in a lake house vacation.

The home is even prettier than the pictures, and the view of Lake Michigan is amazing!! Owners thought of every convenience, including board games, Kuerig coffeemaker with wonderful coffee assortments, a TV in every bedroom with a great selection of streaming apps, and bathrooms each equipped with selections of lotions, shampoo & conditioner. The beds were also so very comfortable!! We’d definitely stay again!!

Absolutely stunning location and luxury house. Our family had most relaxing and comfortable vacation staying here during the winter. The view is absolutely breathtaking, winter wonderland. We can not wait to come here during the summer and enjoy it again!
The host is fantastic and very accommodating. Everything that was available for us to use was very helpful and made our stay very pleasant and comfortable.Everything you think you may need was there available for us. My family had the most relaxing and enjoyable time at this home! The house far exceeded our expectations and we loved every minute of our stay. We arrived to a sparklingly clean house and immediately felt right at home. The stunning lake view was unbelievable and the double sided fireplace was one of the best features of the home. We had it on during most of our stay! The decor was a great mix of modern and coastal which we loved. The house was fully stocked and had everything we needed to cook our meals at home. The house is perfect for multiple families - the upstairs loft is a kid’s dream. Great customer service and communication from Juniper Homes! All in all we had such a wonderful weekend and can’t wait to visit again soon!

This house is fantastic! It's big, well-appointed, and really cozy. The above-shore deck provides amazing water views, and the sunsets are brilliant. Everything was as described, or better. We also really appreciated being deep in the woods, yet so close to Warren Dunes, wineries, breweries, and all other services. The dog-friendly policy was really appreciated!

We loved every moment of our stay at this gorgeous house. It was the perfect place for our weekend girls trip. The house is very well equipped with everything you could possibly need and is located steps from the lake and close to several nearby wineries. The weather was cold and windy the weekend we visited, but we could not have been more cozy and comfy in front of the beautiful fireplace enjoying expansive views of the lake and shoreline. Highly recommend for a wonderful getaway!

We absolutely LOVED our stay in the Cool Coastal cottage! It was a beautiful location and perfect space for a big family. The space is comfortable, clean, and beautifully decorated. The host consistently responded promptly to any questions. The downstairs suite was a huge bonus for us and gave everyone some privacy. Would highly, highly recommend!!

What had an amazing stay. The location is stellar and you can hear the waves from Lake Michigan crashing against the rocks from the couch. Everything was very well appointed and the only regret was that we didn’t have more time.

The view of the lake from the porch was beautiful. There is both an outdoor fire pit and a lower deck overlooking the water. We spent a lot of time outside enjoying the view - but the house is absolutely gorgeous inside. Everything one would need is provided. Dogs are allowed and we brought ours, but the house is still immaculate. So the cleaning is very thorough. The pictures are accurate - and even so - the house exceeded our expectations. Would definitely want to come back.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Cool Cottage! The house is pristine, beautiful, and super comfortable. The outdoor setting is gorgeous. It was peaceful while also being close to many of the other towns along Michigan's western coast. We've stayed at many airbnbs and this was one of our very best experiences. We will definitely be back!
