Witch’s Cherry Cider Donut Holes
Celebrate the flavors of Southwest Michigan with these festive donut holes made using local cherry juice and apple cider. They’re fun, fruity, and perfect for your Halloween party spread.
Yields: 24–30 donut holes
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 15 minutes
Total Time: ~35 minutes
Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
½ cup sugar
2 tsp baking powder

½ tsp salt
⅓ cup whole milk
2 large eggs
2 tbsp melted butter
½ cup cherry juice or cherry cider
½ cup apple cider
Optional: ½ cup chopped Michigan cherries (dried or fresh)
Cinnamon sugar, powdered sugar, or black sanding sugar for coating
Oil for frying (or use donut hole pan to bake)
Instructions:
1. Heat oil to 350°F (or preheat oven if baking).
2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
3. In a separate bowl, mix milk, eggs, butter, cherry juice, and apple cider.
4. Combine wet and dry ingredients. Fold in cherries if using.
5. Drop small spoonfuls into hot oil and fry until golden brown (~2 minutes per side). Drain on paper towels.
6. Roll warm donuts in your coating of choice.
Serve on a tray with spooky décor, or skewer a few onto cinnamon sticks for a Halloween-ready display!
